A disciplined and determined Bangladesh played aggressively from the very beginning of the game.
One-down Shakib added a valuable 84 runs including 11 fours and 2 sixes in 54 balls. He was ultimately caught by Umar Akmal off Yasir Arafat.
Openers Tamim Iqbal and Mohammad Ahsraful scored 24 and 14 runs respectively. Mushfiqur Rahman and Nasir Hussain added 25 and 16 runs to Bangladesh's collective score. Mahmudullah was out for the duck while Ziaur Rahman (not out) manged to grab one run.
Yasir Arafat was Pakistan's most successful bowler. He took three wickets (Shakib, Mushfiqur Rahman) and Nasir Hussain.
